Warehouse is now a Dimension in Intacct

Intacct users who benefit from the Inventory Control module may be happy to know that “warehouse” is now a standard dimension. This means you can now see your company’s performance at the warehouse level in your data analysis and financial reports.

In Inventory Control, when you enable the warehouse dimension, your existing warehouses will be treated as dimensions, and you will be able to report on this warehouse dimension going forward. Hierarchies will allow added flexibility to divide your warehouse into sections or zones, which will roll up into the total warehouse. Or, you may define warehouses that roll into a particular region, for example, then access those hierarchies in your reporting to see the data at either a detail or summarized parent level. Defining Dimensional Relationships

You will also be able to define dimensional relationships to help make your data entry more efficient. For example, if a particular item must always be shipped from a specific warehouse, you can define that inventory-warehouse relationship so that this particular warehouse defaults when you use that item in a transaction.
